The long awaited first release from Paul’s forthcoming sophomore album Looking Glass is finally available. Released via indie label Total Creative Freedom, the double A-Side single is available for purchase from iTunes and Amazon and features remixes from Affe Kader and Bamboobat plus a stunning piano re-make of (I Am A) Voodoo Doll by Patrick Ytting. Paul says of the single- “Voodoo Doll started it’s life as a bouncy piano number that I’d written as an ode to those down on their luck, a fingers up to the forces of nature that we sometimes feel must be conspiring against us. It was the first track I started working on with Producer Pepper and he turned it into the banging dance pop track which it was just aching to be. As for Smalltown Boy, well I’d always loved this track when I was growing up, Jimmy Somerville’s vocals blow my mind! I remember seeing the video for the first time and being really captivated, like a lot of other young boys growing up in suburbia in the 80’s. The lyrical content is sadly just as vital today as it was when it was released and a lot of people can still identify with it but the juxtaposition of melancholic lyric and the insanely uplifting and infectious melody works wonders on the dance floor!”

Paul was extremely excited and honoured to kick off the proceedings on the main stage at this years Brighton Pride festival. “I’ve always loved the vibe at Brighton Pride, there’s such a positive feeling of freedom in this city and Pride is the cherry on the cake. To be asked to open the festival on the main stage is a dream come true”. Before the festival took place, Paul took part in a Pride Benefit performance at Envy amongst Departure From Normal, Mila Falls and Fred Oskar, raising money for the Pride Foundation. Before heading to Preston Park (where the festival took place) he serenaded guests at The Regency Tavern with an acoustic solo performance whilst they tucked into their Pride Breakfast. “It’s been a really exciting and manic time but it feels great performing at such a worthy cause which is close to my heart, roll on next year”.

The artwork for brand new single (I Am A) Voodoo Doll/Smalltown Boy has been revealed. The photography is by Paul’s long standing artistic collaborator Paul Jackson and the cover was designed by Andrew Brown. The single, which is the first to be released from Paul’s sophomore album Looking Glass, is available in June.

Wedding Song is Paul’s 4th and final single to be released from his debut album ‘The Last Green Bottle’. It’s set for release on 14/10/13 and it features previously unreleased songs from the ‘Green Bottle’ sessions. The fantastic video to accompany the single was shot in Paul’s home town of Brighton this summer by the incredibly talented Michael Williams from Laughing Duck Productions and will also be available to view from Monday. Paul said about the release “I had never planned to release another single from Green Bottle, but I’d had the idea for the video in my head for a while so when the opportunity came up to shoot it with Michael I jumped at the chance. The single version of the track is actually an outtake from the Green Bottle sessions, I’ve always been fond of the song completely stripped back in this way and It seemed to fit better with the feel of the video. The video was such great fun to shoot and I’m so happy with the results, it’s like a short film, I don’t come across very nicely in it but that’s ok! Haha”.
