Great harmonies, funky guitar, soothing flute and beautiful violin!
Paul Diello started performing in 1999 with an acoustic covers threesome. Soon after he and his brother Michael were picked up by founder member of rock band 'Porcelain'.
A year or so later they decided to break away and start a band using their own material having both written songs since they were young.
'Shiseido Red' started life as a rock band, but as time went on they decided their true sound was at its best acoustically. This format allowed the brothers the chance to exhibit the close harmonies and rhythmic and melodic style for which they became renowned around Brighton and London: Venues including The Komedia, Concorde 2, Joogleberry Playhouse and The Borderline, Camden Barfly and the Troubadour. They also performed at various festivals and gave numerous live radio interviews and performances.
One of Paul's most memorable Shiseido highlights was supporting 'Texas' to a crowd of over 5,000 at The Arundel Festival.
After a couple of years playing their new style they came across classically trained violinist Tessa Gilles who added her own haunting and delicate vibe to their sound.
In June 2008 Michael decided to depart from 'Shiseido Red' due to other commitments, leaving Paul to continue playing his songs in the original form in which they were written, on piano.
Since leaving the Shiseido nest on his solitary flight into the unknown Paul has hooked up with some great new musicians to bang out some of his tunes with. This, combined with his keyboard & Tessa's gorgeous violin mean things are working out well for Paul Diello, and the future is exciting.
Paul is currently putting the finishing touches to his first solo album, and is enjoying being out on the road with his new sound and bunch of friends.
